Virtual Studio
3D sets. GPU rendering. Camera tracking. Real-time.
Place your talent in photorealistic virtual environments. GPU-accelerated keying, AI camera tracking, and 50+ built-in sets — no physical studio required.
A studio in software
No set construction. No studio rental. Photorealistic environments rendered in real-time on your GPU.
3D virtual environments
Photorealistic virtual sets rendered in real-time. 50+ built-in environments. Import custom sets from Unreal Engine, Unity, or Blender.
Camera tracking
AI-powered virtual camera movement that follows real camera motion. Pan, tilt, zoom, and dolly mapped to the virtual set with sub-frame accuracy.
Green screen keying
GPU-accelerated chroma keying with edge refinement, spill suppression, and dynamic lighting adjustment. Works with imperfect green screens.
Multi-layer compositing
Foreground, midground, and background layers with depth-of-field. Place real talent inside virtual sets with correct perspective and parallax.
Virtual monitors
Embed live data feeds, graphics, and video sources into virtual screens within the set. Update content dynamically during broadcast.
Real-time scene switching
Switch between virtual sets in under 100ms. Pre-load sets for instant transitions. Animate between environments with custom effects.
Technical specifications
Three steps to virtual production
Choose your set
Browse 50+ built-in virtual environments or import your own. Preview sets with your camera feed before going live.
Set up your camera
Position your real camera in front of a green screen. WAVE maps camera movement to the virtual set automatically.
Go live in a virtual world
The GPU renders your virtual set in real-time. Switch environments mid-show. Add virtual monitors and data feeds on the fly.

Frequently asked questions
What GPU is required for real-time virtual sets?
NVIDIA RTX 3060 or higher for 1080p sets, RTX 4070+ for 4K. On macOS, Apple M1 Pro or higher. WAVE Virtual Studio uses GPU compute (Vulkan on Windows/Linux, Metal on macOS) for rendering.
Can I import custom virtual sets?
Yes. Import sets from Unreal Engine (FBX), Unity (FBX), Blender (glTF), or any tool that exports USD format. WAVE maps camera tracking, lighting, and material properties automatically.
Does Virtual Studio work with any green screen?
Yes. The AI-powered keyer handles uneven lighting, wrinkled fabric, and partial green coverage. Edge refinement and spill suppression run in real-time. A well-lit screen produces the best results, but perfection is not required.
Can I use Virtual Studio for remote guests?
Yes. Remote guests send their webcam feed via WebRTC. WAVE applies green screen removal (or AI background replacement without a green screen) and places them in the virtual set alongside in-studio talent.
