Quality Scorecard
Real-time MOS. Anomaly detection. SLA compliance.
One score for every stream. Quality Scorecard predicts viewer satisfaction in real-time, detects anomalies before complaints arrive, and proves SLA compliance automatically.
Measure what viewers feel
Objective metrics mapped to subjective experience. Know your stream quality before your viewers tell you.
Quality score (MOS)
Mean Opinion Score prediction for every stream. 1-5 scale updated every second. Correlates with actual viewer satisfaction surveys.
Bitrate efficiency
Measures quality-per-bit delivered. Identifies streams wasting bandwidth or under-encoding. Compares against codec-specific baselines.
Rebuffer tracking
Per-viewer rebuffer ratio, frequency, and duration. Geo-correlated rebuffer maps show regional quality degradation in real-time.
Anomaly detection
AI detects quality drops before viewers notice. Alerts on encoder drift, network congestion, and CDN edge failures automatically.
Historical trends
Quality metrics tracked over hours, days, and weeks. Identify recurring patterns, compare events, and measure improvement over time.
SLA compliance
Define quality thresholds per stream tier. Automatic SLA violation alerts. Compliance reports for enterprise customers and partners.
Technical specifications
Three steps to quality visibility
Enable scoring
Add the WAVE player SDK to your application. Quality metrics start collecting automatically — no additional configuration.
Set your SLAs
Define quality thresholds per stream tier. MOS floor, max rebuffer ratio, bitrate minimums. Get alerts when thresholds breach.
Monitor and improve
Watch real-time scores on the dashboard. Drill into anomalies. Export compliance reports for stakeholders.

Frequently asked questions
How is the quality score calculated?
WAVE Quality Scorecard uses a neural network trained on 2M+ viewer satisfaction surveys mapped to objective metrics (VMAF, SSIM, bitrate, rebuffer ratio). The model predicts Mean Opinion Score (MOS) with 0.93 Pearson correlation to actual viewer ratings.
Can I set different quality thresholds for different streams?
Yes. Each stream tier (free, pro, enterprise) can have its own quality SLA. Thresholds are configurable per metric: MOS floor, max rebuffer ratio, minimum bitrate, and latency ceiling.
Does Quality Scorecard work with non-WAVE CDNs?
Yes. Quality Scorecard collects metrics from the WAVE player SDK regardless of CDN. For server-side metrics, we support integration with Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, and CloudFront via their analytics APIs.
How quickly are quality anomalies detected?
Anomaly detection runs on a 1-second sliding window. Alerts fire within 3 seconds of detecting a quality drop. The system distinguishes between transient dips (single-viewer network) and systemic issues (CDN edge failure).
